Auto-Balance Problems

Why does auto-balance retrict spawn times?
I think auto balance should just take a player from one team and automatically switch them to the other team.
I guess there is the problem that a marine switching to aliens now has a lot of scouting information about the enemy team.

How exactly does auto-balance currently work?
It could possibly work by spawning only a number of troops equal to that of the enemy team's troops... for example:
Lets say there is a (marines) 10v7 (aliens) game.
Auto-balance should allow only 7 marines to be alive at a time, until balance is restored. While the remaining marines lie is queue until somebody dies.

Any other suggestions? Or do you think that auto-balance is fine the way it is and why?

How it works? I think when you're 8v10, both teams will have 8 players on the field. So if you're in the bigger team, you will only spawn when someone else dies. It encourages players to switch teams, but doesn't force them. I'm ok with this system.

In other games they often have systems to switch players automatically, which I really hate. Once I start a game, I get invested. I want to win this, for the team! Being tossed to the other side halfway the game pisses me off waaaay more than longer spawn times could ever do.
