Game freezes / PC crashes after building

i posted in the steam discussions already, im going to copy here aswell:
"This happened to me three times after the new patch already:
Only if play marine
Some time in the game i finish an armory
the second it is finished, the sound distorts horribly like the sound of a dying battery toy, screen freezes
tab out doesnt work, taskmanager doesnt work
all i can do is restart my computer
it never happened before
it happened three times so far, 2 times after an armory, i cant recall the third time
i would say i have a high end computer and my network settings are right, too
never had something like this in another game
what to do?
its annoying as f***, populating the server, game starts, 18/18 players, 10 min into the game my game freezes and i cant rejoin the server afterwards because it is full. dammmmn fix it please"
any ideas, unknown worlds? i'd appreciate it!

Sounds like a sound driver issue, but thats just a guess.
Could also use your DXDIAG, again, reference that stickied thread.
