All I know is that with focus a skulk could hop in and once he connects with ONE BITE the marine is DEAD. If you want to call that "2 attacks" be my guest. That doesn't change how dead the marine is after ONE BITE.

parasite is great because it means you can 2-shot a marine... nope according to these guys it's useless because it requires 3 attacks the same as with a parasite!
I understand what you say. Even I can go on a regular serv and be on a rampage with a fade or a SG, if I don't go commander. And as previously mentionned, I suck at the game.
My main point, and I'm sorry if I can't seem to make myself clear enought in english, is : don't balance the game for competitive play only. Most players don't play competitve, and don't give a damn about it. Having focus in aliens would require an awfull lot of teamwork in marine to counter it.
And especially if, as it is discussed at the moment, the counter to "b240+ marine always win" would be "armory don't weld you any more".

Not 'an awful lot of teamwork'. It would require teamwork. Now it doesn't require that at all. It takes one shotgun and a few lucky rifle bullets.
And I don't know why everybody is arguing about numbers here. It's not like balance is carved in stone once a feature is implemented. Everything was OP once. Cara was too high, Onos stomp and gore was OP and whatnot. Do you even remember that there have been alien damage and armor upgrades in the beta? We tried so damn much now, I think we have to give Focus a chance.
Now that gorgeous is out, the moment is perfect for implementing Focus. Aliens are way harder to play now. Ok well actually the skulk is bugged I think.
Focus would solve the issues with armories replenishing armor.
Focus would force more usage of welders and ths reward more teamplay.
Focus would lead to more diversity in the alien upgrade path. Right now it is crag first shift second and shade last. Maybe swap crag and shift sometimes.
Focus could have like 50% more damage and cooldown if 100% was too much. Tweaking numbers is the easiest part as long as the mechanics behind a feature are okay.

We would just end up to 70/30 aliens back again.
