Thoughts?
I've only played 2-3 games on it but it seems like the marine spawn is static.
My first thoughts were "Holy mackeral that map looks complicated." It's by no means a small map. Marines have to run forever to get places, but so do skulks. I also noticed how cramped everything felt. Even though it seems like a big map, the rooms are all cluttered with stuff. Marine start hasn't got much in the way of a wide open space to plant buildings. The hallways also seemed small and claustrophobic.
We didn't get to arcs in the games I played (had to test out the new exos), but the map made it seem like they weren't the overarching end-all on the map.
The verticality of the map was cool though. Going up and down as much as going forward and back was a different experience from most NS2 maps. It worked really well.
My verdict, awesome map. Just need to get used to it a little more to tell fully.

Comments
--the spawns are totally random for both teams. The only place you cannot spawn is in the central location Hydro.
--the actual size/run distances of the map are not really any bigger than any other map. I think Jona (the map creator) said it was very similar to Tram in terms of run distance. The reason it feels so big is that unlike the other maps, which connect techpoint rooms with hallways, Descent connects techpoint rooms with more rooms.
Haven't played a real game yet though, so no gameplay comment.
