Previously, if someone died 1-2 rooms away from a spawn/pg with a shotty, you don't have to wait around the gun to "protect" it while it timed out. Even if he rage-ran and touched it, the timer reset, sometimes "anchoring" fades/skulks/etc. to a weapon for like 60+ seconds.
Now a gorge can just take care of the weapon when the person's dead and the fade is free to go where he pleases knowing he has caused that 20 res loss (which is the only thing that matters in the game anyway).
The change isn't significant as far as "did I lose my weapon or not." Most of the time if you died before and you were alone against a fade you were screwed anyway. However, it's significant in the sense of movement/time/area influence/ownership dynamics.
