Firstly, whats with blink 4 free when evolving to fade?

Also, and more importantly as it has effectively lost us a competetive match twice in the past few days I've experienced a skill being researched and then being unable to use it until you DIE (not sure if you need to die as life form that the skill is for or if any life form). I've had it with Gorge bile bomb (see http://www.twitch.tv/naturalselection2/b/365692594 on the game where we (cystitis) conceded at the arc push on generator) and also with Lerk spores.

    I think the band-aid for that (if this happens to you in a match) is evolving again. Obviously if there's no traits available you can't do this, but if there something you can evolve, that should give the ability to you.

    blink for free is a bug I saw live for a while.
    Ironicly I managed to reproduce it with certain steps, so I spammed ironhorses mail with it today with a how to. Lets hope that helps in fixing the bug.

    The other bug of being unable to use upgrades can indeed be fixed by reevolving. That does indeed work.
    Last I remember was them trying to reproduce.. but as my memory is just crap, id not quote me on that.

    In the match I linked in my op, I try re-evolving and the bug persisted. Miko was gorge when we got bile bomb, and after he was unable to use it I evolved to try, and then also re-evolved a trait in an attempt to fix it. Nothing!

    This should be fixed for next patch.
    Should you reproduce this bug, (not gonna say how) just one of many symptoms was If you research blink after you've already gone fade, you wouldn't have access to it all game as a fade until you died.
    Ugh.
    DC_Darkling's link is the same bug i think.. though as best as we could tell dying DID reset it. Hope yours isnt some different edge case bug
