Enhanced Hive Sight?

<div class="IPBDescription">Who actually uses it, and why?</div> Just wondering how many of you actually use Enhanced Hive Sight, and why you do? I haven't found it to be very helpful, but perhaps I am just not utilizing it correctly.

Any suggestions or tactics would be welcome. Thanks...

Nobody uses it, because it really doesn't do anything. Offhand, I can think of about 4 places between all 7 NS maps that are dark enough to warrant EHS. 3 of them are on Eclipse. Marines can't hide unless it's dark, and if it's dark enough the marine can't see he'll turn on his flashlight so that you can see him.

I haven't noticed too much of a difference between Enhanced Hive Sight and squinting. All in all, the maps just don't have truly dark hiding locations for the Marines. Scent of Fear in my opinion is much more valuable than EHS. While I'm sure some players will disagree, I find Scent of Fear almost as good as Parasite.

Problem with EHS is that Marines are already so easy to see. The only time they are hard to see is when their green colors blend in with the green colors of human buildings in a turret farm. Unfortunately, EHS makes this even WORSE by making teh buildings glow so brightly that you can't see a thing.

Advance hive sight is invaluable as a skulk, anything that will make the marines more clear when you are in a biting frenzy helps greatly, especally if you have lvl3 celerity and can't control your own movement to a degree. Also, advanced hive sight does one really usful thing: it highlights marine GRENADES. This makes avoiding a nade spam when you are a weaker alien like a lerk a snap.

    Once again though,

If they have grenades, why are you being a Lerk that will die from them? Why aren't you either
    a) being nastier, or
    b) Flying away from the Launcher boy, as he's invariably gonna be bigger than you.

Or getting right up in GL boy's face where he'll blow himself up trying to kill you.

Hivesight also makes your teammates, structures, and webbings stand out. Same with mines, which any smart bunch of marines would be hiding in dark corners where a Skulk might want to go.

Actually you can make tour team's structures, players go bright by pressing your flashlight button, you don't need adv. hive sight to do that.

I use it alot on places like Nancy, where the enemies may be hidden. Their main base for one, is in a very dark place.
Enhanced Level 3 makes marines and merine structures glow just like your own aliens and organic structures.

However, I'm more of a fond of Scent of Fear. I love chasing wounded people, especially as a Lerk so I know where to gas them.
