Transparent Buildings

but...

i think the glowing buildings and fellow kharra was one of the upgrades.. yet.. how come eitehr

a) i have it right away
or
b) i research it once.. but after i die i have it again??

is there a basic ability and then a ressearched more advance one??

Ummm... the flashlight button always makes allied units glow and become transparent, the Enhanced Sight upgrade makes it so that the enemies glow as well. Correct me if I'm wrong?
