Please Help, Long Loading Times and Game Freezes. Fixed [Nvidia Geforce GTX 675mx]

Hey guys,
Since I've gotten my new laptop, NS2 has been giving me two problems:

Takes forever to load into a map. Yesterday took about 15 minutes, and that's one of the better times.

Random freezes, specially during the main menu and after joining a match. My fps is fine (up to 40-50 on high settings, 80-100 on low) and it will run fine for about a couple minutes, then suddenly my screen will freeze. Sometimes I can ctr-alt-del out and get back in, but that only sometimes works and even then it will freeze again in another 2 minutes.

If anyone's got any good suggestions on fixes (or where else I can look for possible fixes), I would appreciate it!

Things I recall off the top of my head from experience, turn off vsync and texture streaming. Deleting the %appdata%/Natural Selection 2 folder and letting it rewrite all the files can help too.

EDIT: Btw 2.8ghz is WAY too slow for this game.

Can you give us a copy of your log file.

You can get it here:
%appdata%/Natural Selection 2

It will help narrow down why this is happening.

Also, are there any actions that seem to effect it being around an exo, grenade spam, that sort of thing.

Type loadtimes true into your console before you join a game and post that log here.

Where is the NS2 Configuration & Log files?
Firstly you are looking for Options.xml and there is different ways of finding it, Here are 2 of them:
Depending on your Operating system, The place to start looking is either in:
XP: C:\Documents & Settings\
Vista/7 : C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Natural Selection 2

You also need to enable View hidden files because you are looking for a hidden folder "appdata" where you may need to goto "Roaming" folder and find "Natural Selection 2".

You could just type into the local address bar: %appdata%\Natural Selection 2

That CPU turbos up to 3.8GHz which is fine. The only issue is that I've found that turbo boost doesn't seem to work smoothly with NS2 (i.e. the CPU may be trying to throttle back down while NS2 is running). I use throttlestop when playing NS2 on my laptop to solve this issue.

Here's my log, and no, no particular actions lead to a freeze. I just spawn, walk like 5 ft and freeze.
Edit: Another problem, now my ping gets up to around 800 when I enter a room, with everyone else doing fine at 100 or below.

So, fixed some of my problems, though got one new one.

Updated my Nvidia card to a "beta" driver, 313.96. Now my game loads up just fine, and I do not have any more freezes! Yay!

However, now my FPS is pretty bad. Low settings on everything, that "Experimental" option on, and I get 15-30 FPS, with steep drops during high action moments like big battles and such.
Anyway I can optimize my system so I can get them graphics up? I had it on high settings with 40-50 before, and now feel spoiled and want my shiny graphics back!
