Alien evolution idea- Harrassment/defender alien- Hivemind (plz suggest a better name)

Basicaly an alien unit that sheds it skin, and then that sheded skin is a mindless drone that can help defend and is a good distraction, and that is the mechanic of this alien idea, and it revolves around that, and if the original hivemind dies that has made the drones, the drones all die with it, like its a hive-mind. one part dies, the drones die.
the alien should have around 200 hp, and 100 armor. the drones have half the ammount of hp and armor.
Hivemind has a ranged attack, not sure what kind. leave a suggestion. Drones have a melee attack.
Can get an upgrade that allows hivemind let out a piercing screech, that disorientates the marines. (marines could possibly get an upgrade that lessens effect or gets rid of it all around)
Maximum of 3 drones at a time, alien commander can take control of drones if given control, other than that they will follow the hivemind around and act mainly like a meatshield.
Drones can be consumed by hivemind, lerk, fade, or onos and reagains the ammount of HP the drones had
Drones can not be mass-created. Takes 60 seconds for Hivemind to regenerate skin. after that, it can make another drone. takes 5 seconds to shed skin. when skin is shed, armor is reduced, and hivemind is more vulnerable.
Can get a 3-hive upgrade that lets drones have a ranged attack, like the hivemind.
Drones could possibly be sacrificed to make a defensive building, or supporting buildings.
It can look some-what like a cicada, but more so like Kharra. I got this idea on how cicadas shed there skin, and only a shell is left. the hivemind part came to me from other aliens in video games.
