Name that Planet!

I thought this could be a fun thread where we offer names for the Planet that most of the Maps are on. A recent Tweet indicates the devs have no name for the planet yet so I thought this would be a fun way for the community to participate. Dev's chime in if I am off base here.

My Ideas: It has been suggested that the planet be the Kharaa home world, this would work in the sense that we have not seen any spacefaring ability in the Kharaa technology but limits world building potential for meta story. If we were to go with the Kharaa home world, I would suggest something simple but within accepted exoplanet nomenclature. Something like "Kharaa c" or maybe "Khar a"

If we were to go with something other than their Home Planet maybe use an existing exoplanet we know about maybe Alpha Centauri Bb the problem being this is a Binary Star System and some of the art would be inaccurate and or need to be updated... if we care about that.

Third Idea is an homage of some sort or reference to something in pop culture. Obviously an Alien reference would fit nicely here but that seems a bit cliché.


Anyway those are my thoughts.

I thought in the first contacts they showed up on human colonies and ships. Doesn't that imply some kind of space faring technology?

That's what I remember from the backstory of NS1 which I am far too lazy to go look up right now. Why not an aliens style designation, LV-246-A or some such nonsense?

It cant be the Kharra homeworld, its the planet with docking, mineshaft and tram on it and I dont think a dance club would be on a Kharra planet

I remember from the NS1 Lore that once they kill off all the marines, they take over the facility,(because in NS1 they always were on space ships/stations) and turn it into a deep space spore craft
