Finally! But not convinient at all.
I have tested and it works! My theory was correct!
There was a built in NS mute player function, it's just not functioning well (or buggish)
The way to do it is rather complicated, and so far the only possible way I know is to do it as an alien... but it should be possible as marine too. let me try to explain it...
The fancy cursor you see is not the mute cursor you are supposed to see. For the mute cursor it is supposed to look like a dull, old mouse cursor (white and pointy with a tail)
To get it, you'll need to do the following (as an alien):
1.) get your pop-up menu (dont hold the right mouse button though)
2.) hold your score menu button (TAB...?)
3.) select any evolving selection (or upgrade) (still holding the TAB button)
4.) while evolving (gesturing), click on whoever you want to mute on the scoreboard
5.) done.
The only way to do it seems to be this. My theory was correct after all, that the popup-menu had something to do with muting... and it works. You have to get the popup-menu, then get the scoreboard, then get rid of the popup-menu (so it disappears somehow) and click on the names you want to mute.
For marines, I haven't found anyway to make the popup-menu disappear though. Perhaps ejecting the commander or going to the readyroom can do the trick... haven't tried it because I don't really want to vote out my commander now
I hope it helps the dev team make out why it's not muting... or help whoever's encountered lamers and finding a way to mute them...
Happy muting people! (now... onto the pics...)
