<div class="IPBDescription">A counter to the Exosuit</div>Okay, lemme level with you guys for a second. Right now, the Exosuit is sort of overpowered. It's really hard to take it down if there's even one marine who's welding it. I propose a sort of similar system for the Kharaa.

Allow the Gorge to ride on an Onos's back.

As a researchable evolution, the Gorge would be able to climb onto an Onos's back and sit there as a passenger; he would be able to spit, heal, and bilebomb, but not be able to create buildings.

He is very vulnerable up that high, so the Onos would need to protect him and be careful about where he rushes. However, while up there, his ability to bilebomb enemy armor would really help the Onos counter the Exosuit, which makes sense, because the two are both Heavies, and they should be at least a match for eachother - as it stands, all the marine needs to do is jump around and keep firing, and the Onos will die before he can make an impact. With a gorge passenger, he would have a fighting chance, and it would emphasize teamwork. The Gorge's vulnerability would mean that the Onos couldn't simply rush into an enemy base and start wrecking ###### without proper backup because he's got a source of healing - the gorge would be an easy target on the Onos's back, so it would be most suitable for base defense.

Thoughts on this idea?

whilst I don't agree with exo being op, I do think the onos ride would be a fun way to encourage team play. Balance would have to be checked though cause I can easily see how an onos with in built healing and bile and spit coming off it could be very op.

If anything, the gorge wouldn't be lowered to such gimmicky standards. The onos should ride on his back.

Fun idea, but I think it will be OP. Unless the Onos cannot use any upgrades while the Gorge is on his back and his speed is reduced slightly or even dramatically.

However there is a problem. Will the Gorge will be able to look anywhere he wants or only in the direction the Onos is facing? It would be weird to see the Gorge spitting from his butt if the model is stuck in place.

It would be better if the Onos and Gorge just walk together as a pair while the Onos takes most of the hits and the Gorge heals and bile bombs the marine structures. I think no changes is necessary here.

    Agreed...

However I think a Marine should be able to ride one if they can jump on their back. Just make it so they can't shoot the onos while on their back and have to try and hold on like a rodeo rider and get some points for doing so! Just for some fun :)

    "A counter to the exosuit"

You mean, other than a single skulk, bile bomb, onos, beaconpwn etc?

    lol.

I like the idea of teamplaying like that :)
I remember in NS1 Lerk were able to pick up an Gorge or even Onos to fly around with. It was hell a lot of fun, really much so because they could also pick marines up and drop them from a high place :D
Why don't they think about that idea? Not to make anything op and such, but the Lerk could maybe be able to pick up an Gorge at least? To save it from a tight spot or just travel to a far end of the map.

The game is supposed to be assymetrical. Why does everyone try to come up with a new idea that will "balance" the game by giving one team a feature that is supposed to match what the other team has.
