Need assistance with Build 237

<div class="IPBDescription">Client and Server differ keeps coming</div>Hey Everyone,

I have been running my NS2 server for a few weeks now and have not had any issues since build 237 was released yesterday. Ever since the new patch was released I have been unable to get the server up and running at all. Yesterday I was able to use SteamCMD to install build 236 without fault and had a full server for the extent of the day. The moment 237 was released I attempted another update and the server says that it is running build 237 but everyone who trys to join gets "Client and Server differ." I attempted to create a fresh directory for the server to reinstall everything and I have the server running again (stating that it's Build 237) but clients still get "Client and Server differ."

Can anyone please assist? Preferably someone who has been able to get their server running on build 237?

I had the same problems at first. I solved it by making a completely new fresh install in a new directory. It helped

For everyone having issues with build 237 I have found the issue and the solution.

When doing the app_update 4940 you will have issues. It looks like 4940 is for a SteamCMD app-update for users who are running servers with Steam credentials that do not own NS2. What you have to do to work around this is use the login credentials of a NS2-enabled account and do an app_update 4920. This will update to the correct build and will fix your issues.

    Thanks!

To the OP, When that happens, append 'validate' to the end of your app_update line.

    i.e.

    app_update 4940 validate

That will verify all files have the correct versions.
