<div class="IPBDescription">Menu flickers in grayisch overtone, can't make out much</div>Hi,

I must say I'm very pissed, but whatever, isn't the first time. Uhm, well I've bought the game couple months ago and had the same problem, now I want to fix it and I've tried a couple of the troubleshoot tips I got from here, but nothing worked (Dx redist, deleting shader folder, etc.)

So here's my Problem:

When I start the game, it loads up fine until the menu should pop up. And it does. But it's distorted and flickering and lot's of grayish overtone with a hint of the actual menu colours inbetween. Now I know this problem from other games, it's usually a prob with the screen resolution. But I can't ######in' change it!
I change it in windows -> doesn't work, still starts up in 1280:1024 (btw I play via Hdmi Cabel)

So I don't know what to do, since I can't work with the menu and change the resolution ingame. Can'T change it over windows, since the game doesn't care.

So help, please. I've got some kickass hardware (i5 intel n' Geforce GTX 660 Ti) and I rlly shouldn't be dealing with this kind of crap along the next half a year or so. But I guess it's my fault for buying a mod turned commercial game, since modders just don't have a clue on how to make ###### work.....

How are you changing it via windows? And what version of windows are you using?

    C:\Users\yournamehere\AppData\Roaming\Natural Selection 2\system_options.xml
That file has your resolution. its a hidden folder. Alternatively u can press windows key + R and then type %appdata%

ironhorse, you my good sir, are my hero!

It worked like a charm, changed to a proper resolution in the file and it starts up perfectly! Thx a bunch!

Oh and I was using Windows 7 and changed the screen resolution in windows via right click, screen resolution ;)

    5 mins later...now I can't connect to a game, "Client and server differ" Awesome, I think I'm in love...not >_>
