Idea for noob players staying alive as marines longer

Hello,
I read this topic http://www.unknownworlds.com/ns2/forums/in...howtopic=126646 and I got an idea how noob marines could stay alive longer as marines and have a less stressful experience.
Remember that option where you can if you want your name to be in green letters so people know you are a noob. I think its called rookie mode and you can set it in options. Right now I don't see how this helps new players. It's more of a way for other experienced players to know not to have high expectations from some players.
My idea is to give players using rookie mode more in-game benefits and some meta disadvantages outside of games.
Advantages of rookie mode:
More health and slightly more armor on all upgrades
Maybe some abilities that didn't get into the game (rifle but stun ,don't yell)?
Slightly better weapon damage on all weapons except exo and GL (welders are not a weapon so no change)
Ok. Reading this you are probably thinking: "NOOOOOOOO, this would ruin the game! Then everyone would keep the rookie mode on forever and ever and make us regular players miserable until literally every experienced player started keeping it on."
This would be resolved by players not being able to record their number of wins, kills and other things (or get rewards, experience... Hats?) That's what I meant when I said disadvantages in the meta game for players. Now just to be clear. I didn't confirm this meta-stuff with anyone from UWE. It's just how I feel the game will develop over time.
What do you think, guys? :D

Player 1 (rookie) attacks a power node with spit!
Player 2: Hey Player 1, if you press you switch to Bile Bomb, which does more damage against buildings.
Player 1: holy ###### I learned something
Plot twist: Player 1 was me
Whats wrong with people's brain today? my brain only generates fun if the game is a challenge - everything else where u cant bash more people than a single with your skills are totaly rubbish in my eyes.
Cant remember myself to get any rookie mode with + dmg whatever you called in Super Mario - that game told you "Learn to play" or "play something else"
if you or others lack the ambition to become a skilled guy you should try another game

NOOOOOOOO!
There are no recorded stats, no rewards, no experience. There would be no reason to have rookie mode off.
We don't need hats.
We don't need experience points.
We don't need unlockable weapons.
What we do need is for people to play the game for what it is, not for eSwag. Newbies do not need anything special other than some patience from more experienced players.
Strangely enough I would argue that yes, all those rubbish games that require you to grind (or pay!) to unlock better weapons result in there being a handicap.... FOR THE NEW PLAYER!
But as to handicapping in NS2, I think people are a little impatient with how long they expect to play before they can pwn people. Give it at least 5 hours on each side first!
Unreal Tournament 3 does.
In the server I believe you can activate a setting called Handicap Rules and it ships with the game.
While extra health/armor is the traditional way to go, I would prefer faster res flow for rookies. That way, rookies would be able to more often play with better weapons/evolutions without getting the mistaken idea that they are super-tough. Reasoning: One of the problems with new players is they die so fast with the higher level lifeforms (even Onos) since they don't know how to play well with them (because they die so fast).
