The Bloat is a large mound of fleshy material hanging from a tentacle, it has a single toothless maw.
The bloat is a stationary structure but has a duel usage.
If a marine gets to close to it, the marine will be devoured and unable to use his weapons other than switch axe and welder, the marine iwthin the bloat takes passive damage over time, spores and gorge spray may hurt the swallowed marine but otherwise he is immune to outside damage.
combined with a shade marines may stumble un awares into a bloat and be devoured.
The bloats others purpose is that it attracts and consumes ARC energy fire, causing the ARC fire to implode within the bloat protecting the other structures, the bloat itself takes some damage from this but protects the other alien structures and hive.
