Assault Rifle sound glitch?

Hey has anyone else noticed:
When emptying an assault rifle's clip on full auto, at about 15 bullets left the sound stops but the gun keeps firing?
It even sounds like the sound is synced at a faster tempo than the firing.
I am running a low spec laptop with all settings to minimal graphics (have not touched sound settings).
the game runs perfectly and the rest of the sounds are on queue.
I post this to investigate whether it is a widespread issue or something affected by my poor performance Laptop.
and if it is the laptop how do i accommodate for the sound?
