A question on shifts

I don't play alien khamm much. The other day I was putting down shifts and spawning some eggs. For 5 res I could make 2 eggs. When I came back to that spot a little later, I saw there were quite a few eggs laying around there.

Do the shifts automatically spawn eggs nearby without having to be activated? Is the spawn egg for 5 res just in emergency cases? Can someone explain how these things work please.

    You get two eggs for 5 res. Was the shift near a hive? If so, then that accounts for your extra eggs. Or, you made more than you think you did.

    Shifts do NOT spawn eggs, only hives spawn eggs, once every 7 seconds. The 2 for 5 is generally reserved for emergencies like being egglocked or if you want to spawn your team in another area.
