Solution for slow loading speeds with high end pc

My loading screen was always extremely slow.
Everytime with map changes it takes longer than 2 minutes :S
Still my pc is "high end"

Specs:

Core i7 4Ghz
8GB ram
Samsung 830 SSD
ATI HD5800 series

Solution:

When the game starts to load just switch to windows with alt-tab and wait for like 5 seconds.
When you alt-tab again the game have been fully loaded.
When i do this trick i'm always first in the RR but when i wait during the loading screen and than join, the game already started for like 1 - 5 minutes :S
If your loading speeds are slow just alt-tab wait for 5 seconds and alt-tab again! This bug is rly weird :S

i hope this helps! Goodluck and have fun :)

I can confirm this works. My load times were usually 60-120 seconds; If I alt+tab whilst loading and count to five as you said, the game has loaded once I tab back in. How odd! lol..

since you have a ssd you can also turn on texture streaming. it decreases the loading time (with a decent hdd too) by 50 % ;)
maybe its already on by default im not sure right now ^^

For me, the thing that worked was turning off vsync. I originally gamed with 3 monitors and having vsync off meant constant flickering so turning on vsync is usually the first thing I do. I just turned off vsync in game last week and loading time decreased from 2 minutes to 15 seconds

I had really long load times during precache, also get the running shaders for the first time everytime before precache. I don't use vsync but I had it capped at 60 with nvidia inspector.

I have it capped now at 75 fps and load times between map changes improved.

Also alt-tab method worked, but sometimes it just crashes.

Still getting loading shaders for first run non-sense and following the suggestions in the sticky did nothing. Nor reinstalling the game.

    My comp spec:
    i7 920 @ 3.6 ghz (HT disabled)
2x gtx275 in SLI with latest drivers
    6 gig ram @ 1444 mhz
    500 gig hd @ 7200 rpm

I had a problem with slow load times (went from like 15 seconds one build to minutes in the next). Then I read somewhere to delete the "%appdata%Natural Selection 2\cache" folder, so I did. The very first time that each map was loaded after I deleted it took forever (shaders alone took longer than the entire map load before), but now I'm back to being one of the first people in the RR after a map change.
