Audio Cuts Out After ~10-20 Minutes of Play

I did several searches on the Tech Support section of these boards and was unable to find any answers, so here we go...
After playing Natural Selection 2 for approximately ten to twenty minutes, I lose audio entirely. Basically, my USB headset (a Razer Megalodon) effectively dies. I can unplug it and plug it back in, but unfortunately my game audio won't be restored unless I quit the game entirely and then re-open it, which is obviously not ideal, as most NS2 matches last longer than ten to twenty minutes.
This is the only game I have this issue with, so I have to assume the game must be at fault here. It's making the game basically unplayable because I can't communicate with my teammates and I definitely can't play as the Commander, which is a huge disappointment.
During the first ten minutes or so, I experience no issues with sound or in-game chat with my headset. It works exactly as you'd expect it to.
Any help is appreciated.
