<div class="IPBDescription">Get resource bonuses by following orders</div>Hi Guys
Just read this post <a href="http://www.unknownworlds.com/ns2/forums/index.php?showtopic=126210" target="_blank">http://www.unknownworlds.com/ns2/forums/in...howtopic=126210</a> and decided to post.
It is annoying that AFK-ers, cowards and base monkeys get the most res with the minimum risk (Note: base builder are important). And like the linked posts says, a resource for points system would only favor the pro-games.
So how about a resource for objectives system. When the commander sets an objective and you (your squad) complete said objective, you all get a small resource bonus: Go here, build this, attack location -points for destroying (buildings but not enemies), defend location -points every few seconds?\points every kill?. Maybe assign roles: scout (res for spotting new buildings, units, etc), skirmisher (points for damage to units), saboteur (points to destroy buildings), engineer\healer.
This gives some encouragement to players to follow the commanders orders and get small squad based team work going. This would also give more strategic control to the commander (it is an RTS role after all). This could be places over the top of the existing system.
Where would this resource come from? Why do it from global team res when you can just build more upgrades? Maybe lock personal resource until objectives are met? Maybe there is a newbie comm and some of the more experienced players don't want to follow orders? Can they opt to leave a squad? (could be a squad only thing). I don't have those answers, just some thoughts I thrown at a forum.
Radical note: what if this system was the marines only allowance of personal resource?
Don't get me wrong, NS2 is a great game the way it is and looks to be getting better in the future. I'd just like to see more division between marines and aliens, as long as it's balanced.

Personally, I don't think you need it. Everyone gets the dame amount of res is OK with me. The current problem I see is that you do not accrue res when you are dead; this is the reason that AFKers get the most, they die the least. I have posted this in multiple other threads previously.
