How to test a map?

I am new to this editor and I created some simple rooms to try and get a sense of scale for the editor. I put down a green spawn entity thing, some lights, and some props but when I load up the map in the game all I get it a black screen and I cant even open the menu. What do I do?

    Testing requires.

    A Room
    A Light
    A NS2 game rules entity
    a ready room spawn entity
You also need to save your level files as ns2_mapname. They must have the ns2_ prefix to be found in game.

These are total basics to test a map. You can run around the level. But these basics treat your level like a ready room.

To test the map as a ns2 map you will also require.

    2 tech points entities
    2 res nodes entities
a seperate ready room with ready room spawn entities.

    Testing commander mode:
at least 1 commander camera entity and depending on the size of the level and height differences you may need more than 1 around the map.
a mini map entity and you will need to create the height map and overview files. ( For creating these quickly go to : Mapping fourm / webbed / 1 click map testing.

    I hope I helped.
