Strange shapes obscuring vision

Hi, I just bought Natural Selection 2 on the holiday steam sale. I've been enjoying the game so far, but about six hours in I just started noticing a peculiar issue. Sometimes when I'm playing, large shapes will appear and obscure my view completely. It looks to be badly stretched out textures or something. Forgive my lack of detail. It's seriously impeding my enjoyment of the game. Anyone have any idea what the problem could be? My specs are:
windows 7 64-bit
GTX 460
intel i5 760
8 gigs ddr3
ASUSTeK Computer INC. P7P55D-E LX

If you need any more information, please ask and I will provide what I can. Also, sorry if this has been addressed before. I haven't noticed anything similar to it.

It's a known issue with the NVIDIA 400 and 500 series. Currently the only way to fix it is to restart the game, I'm afraid

Well, thanks, Kouji_San. I was really afraid my card was crapping out or something and I'm not in a proper position to go out and buy a new GPU, so that's at least very consoling.

Restarting it is the only solution, though? That's a bummer. Well, I hope this gets patched in the near future because I'm LOVING the game, but the problem I'm having seriously makes it really difficult to play it. I'll be patient for a patch though, because I'm very eager to continue playing it. Keep up the good work, devs.
