Have you ever played Villains and Vigilantes? It is a box set superhero RPG that has been around since at least the mid eighties, and it is essentially the very same concept, except that, unless you play with an artist, the visuals are in your head instead of on-screen.

Yes, I was at CoH before I came here. I was known as HolyBane there. It is going to be one of many games that I have beta tested. Hopefully the staff will listen to the beta testers, unlike the other 34 beta tests I have played.

Examples? AO, EQ, and Shattered Galaxy. Oh yeah..*laughs* Then there's ROK, which is STILL being tested. Probally will be tested forever, and it WAS supposed to be a Text-based RPG...then it turned into a text-based PK match.

You beta tested AO, EQ, and SG?
Wow! Think you can get me beta testing with you?

I've beta tested more than just them. Those were just the shittiest games I've ever beta tested, that's all. The Dev. staff didn't listen to a ####### thing we said and they got a #### game from it. I beta Tested Uo and that ended up okay to start with..until the ####### Councilers and GM's became #####. Thus is what happens when you let ####### volunteers work for you. *I'm Sorry, we cannot help you with that!*

    #### you, #### this, #### that, #### off...

    *Please Stop Cursing*

    I'm Sorry, I can't ####### help you with that, ### monkey.

Yeah..That game was plagued with errors once those GM's got in..because everyone was afraid that if they reported a bug, they'd suffer GM abuse..the player run shards were fun, until I ended up on a player run shard that I loved, and a glitch in the criminal system made my character, an Honorable, Noble, virtuous, Justice Paladin, who had never wronged anyone in his life and who followed the Virtue of Justice even more closely than the head of the Justice religion himself, an arrogant man named keiservexious, who always ran from his enemies when they proved even more powerful, leaving my poor Paladin who was "16 years old and half elven, with no parents and far from his homeland" along to stand up to 12 evil necromancers and dark knights, who actually spared his life out of respect for his courage. Of course, the GM's refused to fix it, claiming my character HAD to of killed three innocents. The only thing he had done that day and for the entire month was engage in combat with a grey who attacked a blue. He didn't even kill the grey, just scared him off. Anyway, to make a short story short, my character, though I RPed all the time and my character was so honorable and blah blah blah, the epitome of a Justice Follower, the arrogant jerk guy was the leader of Justice, remained the leader of Justice, and the GM's refused to help me. I attempted to make my own shard, only to find that, while I loved my shard and so did my players, I could not watch it as closely as I hoped, and dared not let it become corrupt like this other shard that I once played on had become.

So you find a lot of repulsive crap when you beta test. I could tell you how most of the #### in Shattered Galaxy works. Your hero is really on the map still, just in a corner, invisable, with everyone else's heroes, and invul. If you were smart enough to link the health of your heroe's units to the health of your hero, Then they'd be invulnerable.

That WAS the beta. Lotta spanish people playing. Their favorite comment was calling anyone who beat them "Sissy Lala"s...that and going into the newbie training caves and self-destructing their units to kill everyone. Buncha jerks.

Yeah, a friend of mine used to code for some free shards - it's nearly impossible to keep an eye on everything if you haven't got the power of a whole company at your hands.

Well, I'm gonna stick with pen&paper.

Actually, it's quite easy...the truth is...my G/f at the time dumped me and I gave up on the shard because I was too depressed to continue it, and then later on, I had to crash my computer due to lack of memory on it, and I had loaned my cd to my ex-girlfriend, so I couldn't reinstall it.
