Cannot bind L and other keys

<div class="IPBDescription">Making configurations other than WASD impossible</div>Hello there! I'm a lefty, which means I play on the other side of the keyboard and use PL;' instead of WASD. BUT, for some reason or another, NS2 won't let me bind L. I've tried binding it in the console but apparently it's not even recognized by the game as a legitimate key...
This is kind of a bummer since I basically can't play the game...unfortunately 90% of games overlook people who use different control schemes anyway so this is nothing new to me...
Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this? I'd really like to not have to try and return the game simply because of control scheme issues on the developers part.
