Crash reporting doesn't work anymore?

<div class="IPBDescription">Can log files be saved to the hard drive, maybe one giant one?</div>So NS2.exe crashes on me basically every time I play. I don't think there's been a single instance in the last two or three weeks where I actually quit the game cleanly. When the "fatal error" dialog comes up asking if I want to submit the log.txt file, I always try to fill out pertinent information and submit it. Unfortunately, the submission process is broken for me. When I click on the submit button, the little dialog box comes up stating "Submitting error report", but then nothing happens. The "OK" button is disabled, which usually signals that something is happening, but it never finishes. 5 minutes, 10 minutes, nothing. I never get the final "your submission is complete" or whatever the text is for that.
Would it be possible to have an game config option that just automatically saves these log.txt files in some directory, so that we can peruse them and see whether there's a common thread amongst them? I suspect that there's a problem with playing some sounds in my case, which causes the crash. I suspect this because in many crash instances I get a repeating, infinite loop of machine gun fire or the like.
