How does the pathing_settings entity work? Do I need 1 or 1 in each room? I ask cause my cysts wont place outside the hive rooms and AI units wont leave hive rooms.

You need a pathing_setting and if you don't have huge elevations the navigation mesh should be good to go on default settings. Technically it also works without a pathing_setting. You can go ingame and type nav_debug in the console to see where the problems are, problems are basically missing bits or rather holes in the navmesh

pick a map that is similar to yours in elevation and it should work without having the change any settings on the entity.
