People have short memories. A few patches ago, right before the game went live there was a patch that really improved hit reg and the people rejoiced. The result before and on release was a million nerf marine threads. The reason was that marines were just crushing the alien team pretty consistently. You would see the marines just march into the hive and kill all the skulks on a fairly regular basis in pub games especially. At that point people were saying the only reason aliens are ever winning is because of 6min onos (or generally fast onos)
Then there was the first post release patch, and people started talking about hit reg issues that couldn't be pinned down for sure and nobody really knew if they existed but alot of people felt something was wrong.
Today we are still discussing it with threads like this one and nothing has changed since that patch, but I still remember that patch where marines simply dominated and could run into hives and kill all the skulks.
Now its possible that skulks have just improved, but I call bull###### on that to be honest. Other possibilities include the massive improvement to crags and the largely increased use of drifters, but with the removal of fast onos I feel like those should have balanced out.
I really feel there is an issue to be resolved with marines just from my memory of that short time around release.
most people are not skilled enough to analyze their own games or fights and understand if they should have come out ahead or not, that's why the feedback is so muddied... that's why you shouldn't use anecdotal evidence for anything
I had a experience today when i hit a skulk point blank with a shotty and i even saw the impact and the blood from the skulk yet it didint register a sigle bit of dmg he killed me then laughed that i had not touched him, seems only to be a small ammount of people complaining onthe servers most have no problems with it.
