Mod list oddities

There's a picture of my mod list. What are the nameless mods that I apparently have? It doesn't really seem to affect anything, I'm just curious since they've been there since the official release.

Also, when joining a modded server, I get to the "Downloading Mods" portion of the load and then get kicked back to the start screen with the error "Missing required mod". Upon going to my mod list, I find 1-3 new mods added to the list and not activated that I didn't subscribe to. These are the mods that the server required, so why do I have to manually turn these things on? Is there an option that would cause this and I unknowingly messed with it? Everyone else I know that plays this game can join any server without a problem, so I'm thinking I screwed with something somewhere, I just don't know what or where..

It's just becoming annoying and making it difficult to join servers. It's only been happening for the last 2 weeks or so. Any help is appreciated.

This been happening a lot for me as well. It only makes a blank one if I deactivate or unsubscribe from someone. No clue how to fix it

I haven't had any problems with unsubscribing, I've just had those blank ones there the entire time since release. I thought it was weird when I went to browse the workshop for crosshair mods and I had 8 or so blank mod slots already on the list, all of them available, but none subscribed or active. It doesn't seem to be hurting anything, so it's not a big deal really, it'd just be nice to know the cause of it.

I'm more curious about my issue with downloading mods from servers to be honest. I think I'm going to mess around with my router to see if that changes anything.

yeah I'd like to know what causes this issue as well (missing required mod). it doesn't seem to be the fault of the user, I've seen people try to reconnect into the same server and it just randomly works or doesn't work :S

i think this was caused several builds ago, but if you had the bad data then it is still there. I think i cleaned up mine by deleting the workshop folder in %appdata%/natural selection 2

Thanks! That got rid of the phantom mods from the list. :D


Now I just need someone else to come in and give me the magical fix to the Missing required mod deal. Messing with my router didn't help anything with that issue, sadly. I'll just keep poking around until it's fixed, by either myself or the fine folks at UWE. At least I can still play, which is really all that matters.

I *think* blank mods are because you've downloaded them in game and not subscribed to them via workshop. Therefore, you have a "ghost mod" that doesn't appear to be named.

I deleted my %appdata%workshop folder. I'm subscribed to one mod (smaller waypoints/orders). I first loaded up and had 0 blank mods and just the one named waypoint mod. I connected to a server and now have 4+ blank mods. I'm presuming those are things like ns2stats, DAK admin, etc.


Potential fixes:
a) delete your workshop folder in %appdata%/naturalselection 2
b) subscribe to the mod that is failing to download when connecting to server. You can see this by pulling up the console (` key) while loading.

Happens to everyone. Happens in server web admin as well.
