Will UW email everyone when it goes on sale?

I have some friends that I would like to gift them some copies, though unknowinng if they will actually play the game, I would prefer waiting till it is on sale. Will we get emailed if the product goes on sale?

Yeah, UWE will notify you bia e-mail when NS2 is released. However, it isn't expected to be released until 2015... so...

No holiday sale iyo? I think it would be a dire mistake not to fix or at least improve performace further before the upcoming sales and give 33-50% discount. People will be replete for a few months after the sales.
Maybe throw in a free weekend with the big patch in February, but UWE should definately put the game on sale for the holidays if you ask me.
