Explore mode does not work

Whenever I start explore mode, it gets stuck on 'starting local server' screen. I can't back out by typing either disconnect or exit in console. I pretty much have to alt + f4. :( I also want to point out that I can join the mp servers fine and I don't have any of the mods installed. Here's a screenshot of the console. I'm a new player and I really need the explore mode to learn the maps better. Any help to fix this issue would be highly appreciated.

    No idea how to fix your issue, but you should know that the only map to explore (currently), is the one you're trying to load. ;)

    I have the same issue, I posted about it a week ago in <a href="http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=124926" target="_blank">this thread</a>.

    My issue is exactly the same as yours. It dies on 'starting local server'.

    Since we don't have a tutorial in-game, I'd really like to see this fixed.

    same here.
    after loading getting a black screen with the white caption "F4 for ready room"
    console still opens but nth else works.

    I'm going to try redownloading it yet again, but I don't think that's gonna help. It starts to load, but just hangs at a certain point. The game does NOT lock up, I can still go into console while the loader circle is spinning away doing nothing. Very odd.

    Well third time is a charm it seems. I did the 'delete local game files' from Steam, then I went and manually removed the NS2 directory in the Steam folder and also the one in appdata. Then I redownloaded the game, although I used the new Steam function that allows you to put the game on a different drive from where your Steam install is! (didn't even know this feature was released, seems it is only a week old) So I put NS2 on my SSD drive with the OS to improve my load times, and when it finished installing it seems to work now. (at least I got into the RR, I never got that far before.)

    So I would suggest that anyone still having trouble to try and redownload the game again.
