<div class="IPBDescription">As topic.</div>Just occurred to me....
This game crashes pretty often some days. I'm counting 3 times today in under 2 hours.
I command quite frequently so i thought hmmmm, that bugger who just took my slot in the server isn't necessarily going to com...
Would be good to have your slot reserved so you can reconnect without competing with other people.
Moreso especially for players who are commanding or in general doing well.
Maybe it could be smart, like 2 Times your estimated load time for your PC is saved to hard drive and it lets the server know how long to reserve a slot for you if you crash.
That would be really good actually, it'd mean fast loaders like me (10-20 seconds) could still reconnect but then again if i don't, in say 40 seconds the slot is freed up.
Then people who load slow like 2ish minutes i've seen some people quote.... you could have 5 minutes before the slot is unreserved.
EDIT: Oh and an indicator of the last server you joined. Like, NS2 will pop-up and ask you if you want to rejoin X server because it has a reserved crash slot for you! This would eliminate up to 20-30 seconds just in time taken to refresh the server list!

I also crashed while commanding and was unable to rejoin because my slot had been taken so I understand what you mean. Couldn't the server save a slot for players that just timed out, using their ID ? Even if takes you some time to load, I guess the server must see that you are attempting to connect, using the ID of a player that just dropped and let you in. After 20 seconds of not seeing that player back, the slot can be freed.
About your edit:
I think you can type "retry" in the console and you'll connect to your last server, meaning the one you just crashed from.
