I think it's funny that people think delayed damage affects game play... If you trying to escape and die around the corner you really died in the hallway you just didn't realise it.... The only time it effects gameplay is when they shoot you when your holding still and your dead in an instant (if they catch you with your pants down your gonna die)

Don't you think that's the problem? Someone starts shooting or biting you and you're dead before you can even notice.

if you're dodging around an RT as a Skulk and there's enough delay, you can die without ever having the marine be in your vision. of course it affects gameplay.

Ever been munching on an RT and died before the marine even came around the corner? Or been ambushed by a skulk and shot it so many times it should have been dead twice over, but it gets the last bite in and kills you anyway in spite of hopping around you for 20 seconds and missing 90% of its attacks? Ever shot a fade in the face with a shotgun 3 times only to be poked to death as it advances towards you in a straight line, not even bothering to run away? Most of my deaths by skulk come in the form of one perceived bite that kills me in an instant. Full health, crunch! dead. This is part of what makes camo so infuriating for marines - you have no chance to react. My boyfriend is still convinced that there is headshot damage because of seemingly one shot kills by skulks and lerks. I'd probably agree with him if I hadn't spent so much time playing aliens.
