I would advise against referring to the lerk movement as pancaking, as depending on the player they may think back to NS1 lerks where you used that movement to gain speed, which is where the term came from and really applies to. IIRC you cannot gain speed using the wiggle lerk anymore in NS2. The movements your doing in NS2 currently really wouldnt make you harder to hit if not for the completely broken lerk turn animations, another topic I wouldnt really try to teach to heavily, nor would I encourage players to attempt to solo marines with bite. I would say more focus on using the environment and also about awareness of where the marines are, and sometimes more importantly, where they are looking. A good lerk can prove very useful as a momentary distraction for skulks, but puts themselves at great risk doing so, and really needs to pay attention to their movement, marine positions and the environment surrounding them.

Didnt watch the full movies but for Marines also I would heavily reinforce checking corners, especially as the lead marine. If you fail to check corners, its generally not you who will die, its the last marine in the squad. Also, marines at the front or rear need to use judgement with engagements.. If they see a skulk or two from behind, they should generally keep watch ahead, as there is usually more coming from the other direction. Beyond that, marines is heavily about positioning and movement. Dont all cluster up and get real close, stay somewhat spread and generally try to maintain a spread that allows you to shoot the skulk off your teammates. Another big pointer is knowing the amount of damage you have dealt to aliens, and gauging their remaining health. Chasing aliens after doing minimal damage often results in your death, as they are simply trying to bait you into a more favorable situation for them. Another good tip is always reload your rifle, switch only to your pistol if you absolutely have to, and this is especially true in NS2 with the shorter reload times.

Might think of some more basics later.

This stream is awesome, even if their taste in dubstep is dubious ;D

Great videos guys.

It would be awesome if you could join a modded server called Lerk Academy or something like that, where you could always go Lerk and practice against dummies and hit goals.

I found the videos and stream both very helpful in shoring up my basics, especially as alien.

I wanted to make a tutorial video as well, but there's no playback of replays and I get too many issues with Dxtory, that I've given up the idea to try.

Note: As of patch 229, blink has become quite ineffective in regard of energy cost.

You want to use shadow step to get faster to the ground, easier to get through low ceilings, quickly change opposite direction, dodge bullets and obviously, get higher velocity.
However, shadow step has a delay where your movement is locked and you can't really do anything. This can make it hard to time it correctly to not hit any obstacles that may stop you dead, especially in heat of the moment.
You can overcome this by tapping blink, which cancels out the shadow step's delay. You can't however do another jump in mid-air because of using blink before jumping.

Blink on the other hand, you want to use to gain height, have more control in mid-air and combat, and to cancel out shadow step's delay. Though, you will only gain up to 17 velocity and it's easier to hit the ceilings.
Then you can combine these as you see fit, I wouldn't say there's any definitive on how you would want to combine these, but I could give you a few combinations and explain a bit about them.

First one is to jump first, then shadow step at the highest point of the jump, then wait a little bit before you jump again so that shadow step's cooldown fades away. This is easier to manage, but you start off with a slow start and generally makes you an easier target to hit.
Second one is to shadow step, jump as soon as possible, shadow step and then jump. However, you can jump in air first, and then shadow step afterwards. It's more or less a just a preference of what you like to use.
Last one is to shadow step, and just double-jump, though to get around corners or to close more distance, I sometimes wait a little bit before I jump for the second time. For the most part, I just use the third method.

With blink, all you do is make sure you do not hit blink before jump, that's all. You can hit blink and jump simultaenously, and jump will be triggered before blink. You only need to tap blink for a fraction of a second, however, in some cases where you want to gain more height, you want to hold it for a split second longer.

You can combine all of these to overcome their disadvantages or to become more unpredictable and generally just harder to hit. For example, I like to shadow step, blink and jump to enter a room quickly, or shadow step, jump and then blink, depending on whether I can do without a second jump for mid-air or not.
One neat thing to do, which Locklear mentioned in the last part of the video, was to blink upwards and then blink downwards again to dive onto your opponent. Depending on the distance between you and the opponent, I like to instead blink upwards and shadow step right into them. If I'm too close, I can tap blink to cancel out shadow step's delay, to get a swipe or whatnot.
