I had an issue with my server not authenticating with steam properly. Nothing had changed - I merely rebooted the server to get some updates.
Checking the firewall log I noticed the following (my server is set to run on 27020). The following ports were being requested UDP - 27015, 27016, 27018 and 27019. Interestingly enough TCP 27038 was being requested too. My firewall was only set for UDP 15->20 not TCP. Once I opened 27038 TCP all was well again and listed in the browser.
Most odd.
