<div class="IPBDescription">copied my NS2 game folder over from my laptop</div>So yeah copied my NS2 folder, and now on my desktop it doesn't recognize my game files and always asks to redownload it (which I really do not want to do) is there a way to let steam know its the same game, files and everything?

    Not that i know of.
NS2 installs and "builds" the game based on your individual system in some areas like shaders, so copying files wont have the best success.

well I've copied and played it just fine, I have to have Steam open and then go into the folder and click the executable and it's good to go. The question I have is getting Steam to recognize the folder as installed so it can verify files and update as nescessary.
