Auto-Balance

Great way to prolong games that are ending
First note

If teams are 7v5, auto balance will keep two marines dead so game is 5v5. But if teams are 6v5 auto balance does not activate. Also it does not take into consideration marine commander.

And more importantly

This feature just prolongs games that are already ending. The other team quits because they are losing and instead of getting dominated upon spawn just want the game to finish, why punish the winning team for doing something right? Also this "balancing feature" is used in a hilarious strat where once the first onos goes up certain aliens can temporarily f4 while the onos rolls a certain objective- throwing the game in their favor.

Quick edit: oh yeah make onos weaker fade stronger add bhop thanks game will be great. And make gorges less useless.

Today, a fine gentleman asked me to provide an elegant solution for this inelegant issue of gametime denial ("I paid to not play" syndrome).

Therefore, I propose something very simple, what with the code already in the hands of Charlie!

While I wait 45+ seconds to enter the spawn queue, allow us one liberty:

    Absolutely not.

Even a Kindergartener knows that the game of choice while waiting to respawn is speed chess.

At least we don't have Onos devour otherwise we'd have some pretty heated rage threads going on.

I loved onos devour. I prefer sitting in a stomach because i got eaten, while i would slow down the onos and could still be freed, to being damned to wait forever to respawn just because the other team started to f4. Was there really some serious outrage because of being devoured? The devouring was one of the coolest features i was showing around to my friends in ns1.

What, and it never got old? Regardless, you can no longer Devour the heavy marines because they are in exosuits, removing the best use for it. I don't think it will ever come back.

Devour worked well in ns1, the current way the ns2 onos is set up would make devour silly unless there were other changes.

Anyway this thread was about ###### auto balance. Lets keep it to insulting that terrible feature so hopefully it gets altered/removed.

What about it do you like? That if your team is losing and down two players you get to spend another 20 minutes losing a game that would have ended?

or that if your team has an onos and is down two players, that the game can become hilariously easy... especially with constantly dead marines not getting any pres. If the game originally was 6v6 your alien team will still benefit from the resource and map control those extra two players contributed to with consistent res flow.

I'm a bit on the fence. I mean it advising you to change teams, but doing that you take with you the res you've gain (good thing I guess), but you also take along the knowledge about your previous teams' strat and locations...

Also I'm keeping my eye on your avatar, I don't trust Scorpians, especially around these here NS lands :P

There should be a cap on the maximum wait time so it's not TOO long.
