<div class="IPBDescription">Making whips cost effective and useful.</div>Right now, one thing aliens lack is any sort of damage upgrade abilities or options. As a result, aliens lifeforms like the skulks and lerk and even fade sometimes tend to become pretty ineffective late game. Now we have the whip, which is a pretty useless structure currently. How about we make the whip an offensive upgrade chamber on top of a defensive structure.
It would be unique from the others ones in a few ways.
- First off, it wouldn't need specific hive to have access to it. Instead, it would be the only upgrade structure which wouldn't require a hive.
- Second difference, is the abilities it unlocks would go into the preexisting crag, shade, and shift slots. So it would have three different upgrades, one for each upgrade chamber type.
- Third, the ability would still require the corresponding upgrade chamber to unlock it. So for the damage ability the whip would unlock in the crag slot, it would need a crag placed first. Same with shade and shift.
As a quick example of some possible corresponding offensive upgrades,
- Fury (Crag): For every percentage of health missing, your attack does a set amount of extra damage.
- Hit and Run (Shift): Your forward momentum is converted into extra damage. This works with movement abilities too, like leap and blink.
- Focus (Shade): Your senses are so keen going into combat, your first attack does a large amount of extra damage. Once used, it will reset when you exit battle for a certain amount of time, like regen.
