My idea to make gorges just a little bit more useful.

Clogs seem to have been added as an afterthought, a 'hey you know what would be cool' idea.

They're currently pretty detrimental in most cases.

My suggestion is to make it so clogs can simply be passed through as an alien as if they weren't there, this would be a small buff to gorges (that is desperately needed) as well as a way to prevent gorges who don't quite know how to expertly place goo in doorways to screw over their team's larger members.

Being able to place more would also be cool.

You can destroy clogs yourself by holding use on them, if one is blocking you.

What's the point of placing clogs in the first place if it forces you or your team to need to stand in front of them and hold E just to undo it?

Ideally your gorges use the clogs to create cover, not walls. They can be really handy. Use them to create places for your teammates to retreat behind. They won't stop anything forever, but they will stop a lot of bullets, and they're free.

Fades need to be able to quickly retreat, and Onos can't always fit through the holes that the gorges or skulks can slip through.

Currently the best strategy for a gorge to be useful is to not go gorge in the first place.

I think clogs should maintain their collision on friendly players. Draco hit the nail on the head. Build smart with your Clogs. It's not always about restricting movement so much as it is setting up a safe refuge from marine fire for yourself/friendly players. It gives your team a forward location to regroup and regenerate, which can boost teamwork on pubs too.

@Wurps: I think you underestimate the influence of a well played gorge in a pub.

    That's not the case.

Building smart with clogs can only go so far in making them not a detriment to your own team, aliens rely on mobility more than marines do, and having doorways jammed up benefits the marines.

Clogs aren't hard to kill at all, you overestimate the gorge's game impact in general.
