Is it possible to do a mod just to benchmark?

like "playing" as a marine, but the marine moves itself and the camera automatic. It pass through a big room with a lot of infestation and maybe even a battle going on

Yeah I thought about that, too.
You could create a cinematic and play that (like the menu backgroun).
You can let am camera fly through a level and record fps etc..
