Router shuts itself down everytime I attempt to join a new server

It's probably a problem with my router rather than the game, but here goes.

I'm using a BT Home Hub 1.0, and every time I attempt to join a server, it turns off. (Replace modem perhaps?)
This has happened with other games including OpenTTD, COD:Modern Warfare (Wii).
But for some games my router is fine, like Black Ops and Minecraft.

Any ideas what could be causing it to turn itself off?

Apparently it's because of some Telnet Client thing.

I think you might have better luck looking in a router support forum as this is a really specialized problem that isn't directly related to the game.
