ARCs?

I was in a lategame stalemate on mineshaft with plenty of +tres coming in and a steady supply of exos holding aliens on a north front and decided to sneak four ARCs (which up until then I'd never used) in from the south. I got them there, deployed, and proceeded to scan repeatedly. The ARCs were visibly/audibly charging, but nothing happened. I scanned over and over and not a single structure went down, and all ARCs were in range. What the hell?

Yeah, happens fairly often. Terrible bug. Redeploy the ARCs and you'll be able to fire a few more rounds.

The Khammander might have been using Ink Cloud via a Shade to block you also. Could potentially be a bug with them not firing otherwise. But I've blocked many a scan/ARC firing line with it.

Would scan not detect the ink cloud? I could see all the structures and eggs...

Afaik Ink Cloud is the counter to Scan, dunno if it would "detect" it but it certainly should prevent the ARC's from firing. Dunno if it works the same way when a Marine is spotting the Hive for the ARC's.

As a commander you can only tell the ink is up if your scans 'fail', meaning the scan animation does not complete and nothing in the scan radius appears.
