Bizarre animation issue!

<div class="IPBDescription">Just started!</div>So I went into a game and selected Aliens.
FPS well over 90. So I do a few bites at skulk...and oddly enough, the animations are...low fps!
I can't explain it...the animations...look to be, around 10-15 FPS...while my FPS is over 90 and movement & structures are normal.
But my bite animation is not only delayed, but slowed!
Never seen that! No mod, either....weird!
