Low FPS

I recently purchased NS2 on steam. The game is great, I really want to dig in and play. Problem is, my FPS are unnaturally low, around 11 FPS most of the time. I just purchased a new laptop. specs:
nvidia 650m
intel i7 quad core 3.4
8g ram
1600x900 resolution

I play Battlefield 3 settings decently high with 50 frames. But this game just wont work for me. I have ALL the settings on low, or off. I just dont understand why my game is so laggy. Help?

As far as Laptops go, that is one insanely powerful laptop, can you list the model number at least? So I can go see the full thing.

Also, at that resolution, should be no issue...

Damn Lua. I like it in Garry's Mod, but building an Engine with it is terrible.

I'm betting the game is using your integrated graphics instead of dedicated. Check the console (~ key) when you start a game, you should see something like "initiated renderer: nvidia 650m" , not "integrated intel graphics"
