Lack of AFK kick ruining servers

I have to server hop multiple times just because inevitably someone thinks it's a great idea to just AFK permanently in the ready room. It really ruins games playing a game where one team is always down a player (often even more since you'll also occasionally get someone afking near a hive or in marine base).
Similarly, observers are having the same effect (also annoying since a couple of times they were likely pointing things out to friends on vent or TS).
Observer slots should be separate from player slots, to prevent them from unbalancing the teams.

yeah it's definitely a problem though - afk commander or >2 afk spectators = server killers.
As it stands at the moment, those who know how are just editing the server.lua to circumvent the filtering of the servers.
Why not just program a broadcast system that just sends all the info out in a one-way stream for observers to latch on to? only thing server would need to worry about then would be chat, which is probably negligible.
This happens? I always thought that Ready room and observers were not counted towards actual games.
i'm guilty of this a lot tbh... get distracted/pulled away from keyboard after round/map end and end up afk in lobby for an hour...
not to mention just wanting to spectate a round, because spectating is actually fun in NS2... but if you spectate then you fudge up the player slots.
If that was the case, unlimited people could join a server and only observe the game, and that doesn't happen, does it...
annoys the hell out of me when i'm trying to play with 1 or 2 friends and someone can't get on the server thanks to an AFK'er or Spectator
30-60 second boot should apply in the ready room.
