Im not much of a forum person but I felt the need to come and make this post. A very long time ago I heard about this amazing mod called Natural Selection. A short download and install later and I was having the time of my life. I had never thought a game like this was possible. For years I kept coming back to Natural Selection. It never got old for me and they were constantly updating an already amazing mod.
Half-Life 2 came out and people moved on to "bigger and better" things with the source engine and NS1 started to slowly die in terms of player population. ( that and combat maps XD ) Shortly after NS2 was hinted at and it was all I could think about. I was constantly hunting down any information/screenshots I could find of this Natural Selection 2 I had been teased with. For the longest time all we had were concept art and a few model SS's to feed our imaginations with and it was ever so painful. ( almsot as painful as reading this post i would imagine )
It almost seemed as if NS2 would turn into vaporware and that world would turn dark for me. Then one day the glorious PRE ORDER NOW popped up on the site. I instantly made my purchase and eagerly awaited my precious! The wait was agonizing but I kept my faith. Then it was announced they were giving us a early glimpse of the engine with a shooting range. It was rough. Nobody can deny that. But it was evidence that things were coming together. Hope!!!!
We all know what happened after that. It was a wonderful combination of the community and Uknown Worlds getting S**** done! I will just make it short and sweet at this point to spare any of you who have read this far. Congrats to Unkown Worlds on this accomplishment! This is one black armored marine saying I never doubted you! I always knew you guys could pull it off! And thank you so much to the community members who helped and donated systems to the game to make it what it has become. This was huge!
