A possible fix for the ones who have timeouts.

I preordered ns2 quite sometime ago, and l were really hyped to play the game. But when it realesed l couldnt even play it. First of, l got alot of prechache issues and after that there were only timesouts. I tried alot of different "fixes" but nothing really worked for me. So after a week of looking around for a fix that actually worked for me, l found this.
So here's a fix that might solve the problems you have with timeouts. Atleast it did for me.
I have a thompson router aswell and l know its a known problem, that those who have it might get unwanted timeouts and whatnot.
But anyhow, heres how l did it.

2. Start cmd with admin. (If you dont, this will not work)
3. Write Ipconfig /flushdns
4. Close it and restart steam. Lauch ns2.<!--sizec--></span><!--/sizec--><!--sizec--></span><!--/sizec-->
Hopefully this can help those with timeouts like me.
