Is it really impossible to turn my ingame mic volume up

without screwing over my windows settings?

When i try to talk to people using the ingame voice noone can hear me, and no ingame setting to turn my mic volume up or down just seems like a big "woops" have happened.
People can hear me fine on Skype, TS3, Mumble etc etc etc.

    A friend of mine got the same problem. No matter what he tries to change in Windows and in his sound card drivers, it's to no avail. We can hear him completely fine in TS3 aswell.

    Try checking it in the steam options (from the steam browser - settings/voice). Ive seen it where the steam settings are low even though windows was ok.
