Game 'freezes' when I use Shift+Tab (Steam Overlay)

<div class="IPBDescription">I can fix it by minimizing twice</div>Whenever I am in-game and try to bring up the steam overlay using LShift+Tab, my game freezes. I can fix it by minimizing, and when I go back into the game the overlay is there. Trying to close the overlay with LShift+Tab freezes it again and I have to minimize to get rid of it.
This is extremely annoying, especially when people are talking to me on steam. After searching on google and here, I didn't find anyone else with the same problem, so I just made this thread.
Does anyone know any fixes?
